We know that for many wearing glasses is a necessity but combining the two can sometimes be rather tricky.
Without having to resort to wearing contact lenses or not wearing a wig at all, what can you do to successfully wear both at the same time?
This time, we’ve put our heads together to give you our top tips for wearing both at the same time.
The thing that we recommend the most if you plan on wearing glasses with a wig is to make sure that your wig is the correct fit for your head.
This means measuring your head thoroughly to ensure that the ear tabs are in the right position and won’t interfere with your glasses by being too far down.
We often recommend this to our customers who wear glasses. If you neatly tuck your glasses’ arms under the tabs, then your glasses won’t be pushing up against your wig uncomfortably and vice versa. Doing this will also keep your glasses securely on your face.
If tucking the arms of your glasses underneath the wig’s ear tabs feels odd or uncomfortable, then wearing your glasses on top of the ear tabs might be the right move for you.
Metal stays on your ear tabs are brilliant for keeping your wig firmly in place, but they can be tricky to negotiate when placed next to or in close proximity to glasses. By pushing them up slightly you will free up more room for your glasses to sit on your face.
Some ear tabs are open, meaning that there is a small hole through which you will be able to slide the arms of your glasses anchoring your glasses in place.
Just be careful not to force your glasses through the holes as you could tear them. It is worth noting that wearing contact lenses during chemotherapy can sometimes become uncomfortable as the treatment can cause dry eyes.
Our final recommendation is that you experiment with different ways of putting on and wearing your glasses and styling your wig and even with your wig generally.
There are no hard and fast rules about how you should wear a wig, so mess around with them and see what feels best for you and what looks best on your face. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and confident.
When worn correctly, a wig has the incredible power to restore someone’s confidence. So, whether you are wearing one for medical reasons or not, you need to feel certain that you don’t just feel comfortable you also look your best. If something as simple as your glasses is getting in the way of you feeling 110% then there is always something that we can recommend to help you feel your best in your wig or toupee. Like making sure that your wig has been styled correctly to suit your face shape and checking that you have measured correctly before ordering your wig, you should also make sure that you are able to wear your wig in a way that suits your lifestyle.
