Synthetic, Human Hair, Machine Made, Hand Tied, Monofilament, Capless

A wig's comfort is primarily determined by what the base or cap is made of and how the hair is attached to this base. For example, a handmade or hand tied wig has the fibres hand sewn into the cap, allowing easy styling and parting and making the wig very lightweight. A machine made wig has the fibres sewn into wefts in the cap sometimes causing the wig to be stiffer. Capless wigs are flexible, light and airy and usually have a mesh lace designed for comfort.

One of the most desirable of wig types is the monofilament wig. It's one step above the hand tied wig and comes the closest to looking like real hair. It gives the appearance that the hair is actually growing from the scalp. Each hair or fibre is tied into an ultra-fine sheer mesh base. The cap is specially woven to allow for comfort and excellent ventilation. With a monofilament top, the hair appears to be growing out of the scalp. Monofilament wigs can be styled or parted in many directions to achieve the look you desire. If you wear a wig every day, the monofilament wig's comfort, superior wearability and natural look more than justify its cost. Both synthetic and human hair wigs offer the monofilament as an option. However, a monofilament human hair wig is the ultimate wig type. It looks natural. It is cool and comfortable. And, it can be styled and treated like your own hair.

Conclusion

Synthetic fibre wigs:

Synthetic fibre wigs have been developed over the years to simulate human hair, you now have a product that has been designed to be light and easy to wear at a reasonable price and is available in a vast range of non-fade colours and styles, with these points in mind synthetic fibre really is a hard act to beat. You can buy around three synthetic wigs for the price of one human hair wig therefore allowing more versatility when washing and wearing them.

Human Hair wigs:

Human hair wigs have to be carefully washed, conditioned and dried into style each time, they do lose their colour and may need the colour refreshing after 6months of wear. Human hair will lose its naturalness over a twelve month period but you will not experience any static frizz in longer styles that occurs in synthetic fibre and it will withstand heat. The cost is much more expensive and you have to consider the need for a second wig to allow for washing, styling and also a spare in case of emergencies.

The choice of synthetic fibre or human hair is really a personal one and largely dictated by the wearer’s needs, environment that the wig is to be subjected to and the budget of the individual.
